Homeward bound

As I write this we are at 35,000 feet over the pacific ocean on our way home. Overall, our time on the island was great. There’s never enough time to do everything, but our goal was to spend some time together just the two of us, enjoy some warmer winter weather than we get at home, and see some sunshine. I think in general we accomplished these goals.

From the time we arrived at out hotel, I wore nothing but shorts and flip-flops. While the wearer wasn’t as warm and sunny as we might have liked, it did keep our pale white from turning lobster like in color.

Our final day we spent just enjoying Waikiki, checking out some shops, and enjoying lunch at a historic spot, the Rainbow Drive-In. I’ll admit, if it wasn’t featured in Lost the week earlier, we might have missed out on this great place.

Last night we ended our island stay at a Luau. It was a lot of fun, and the food was great. If you even get the opportunity to spend some time in Hawaii, take a night and enjoy a Luau.

Although our time on the island was short, I’m ready to be back home and spend some needed time with the boys. And from our call earlier, it sounds like Andy is even more excited to have his daddy heading home.
