Last week my wife noticed the our oven was no longer keeping a consistent temperature which means that it’s time for a replacement. In fact, she has been hinting at a new range since we moved in four years ago. We spent some time looking at a number of the ‘big box’ stores last week and on Sunday we went to a few more as well as some of the dedicated appliance stores.

After looking at at lot of choices we narrowed it down to two. We were leaning towards to Samsung, but I really didn’t want to deal with the lack of customer service at Frys to get the best price. At lunch I headed over to Best Buy to see if they would make me a deal.

I talked to the sales person and showed them the picture of the price tag from Frys and asked that they match the price. He walked off to check and came back a minute later and said that they would drop their price to match, more than a 20% reduction. After a few mintues I wrote a check and they scheduled a delivery for tomorrow.

The only downside is that I’ll be out of town for a few days and won’t get to enjoy the first things my wife decides to bake to try out the new range.
